Match Report 17/10/2009 Wallasey Mini Soccer League Under 8’s.

 

Wallasey Wanderers Hurricanes 0 Delta Colts 0.

 

Delta Colts Under 8’s continued to develop into an entertaining side with an increased defensive awareness to add to their established passing game. The Game was an evenly matched encounter with both sides having chances to take the lead in an open and honest game.

Each player gave 100% in which ever position they were asked to play. Aaron made several good saves in the first half with Scott and Tom making some good interceptions in the early back line. The team started with great purpose and the tackling was excellent and a real step forward in their enjoyment of the game due to the closeness of the match.

Adam and Lucy in Midfield were able to support the defence and play some good passes through for Dylan and Will and confidence was in evidence throughout the team. Zac was introduced into the team and played a great man marking role helping to break up Hurricanes play.

In the second half Tom replaced Aaron in goal with Dylan dropping back into his more usual defensive role. Aaron and Will gave Hurricanes some testing times with their pace and teamwork. The game was very even but with Delta tiring towards the end it was with great credit that the Team were able to keep the good saves that Tom had to make to a minimum with some great tackles.

The Man of the Match award was awarded to Dylan who gave an excellent display in both attack and defence. The team made the Coach and their parents very proud and they should be very proud of themselves for their efforts, their development can be measured in their teamwork throughout and smiles at the end of the game.
